How to prepare a But First, Coffee Stream with Restream
This is the process of setting up Restream to post But First, Coffee on various social media platforms while preparing the stream for broadcast. This process should be done 2 days before scheduled time.
Preperation
- Using Adobe Express, create a new Banner Image for social sharing
- Using the topic provided by John or Jackye, create/adjust description to match the tone of the other broadcasts including a fail amount of coffee puns to the title and description.
- Ensure title doesn't exceed Twitter limits
- Ensure description doesn't exceed LinkedIn limits.
1. Event Creation on Restream
- Log in to your Restream account.
- Click Create New and select Schedule Event.
- Fill in the event details:
- Title: Format as
#ButFirstCoffee – [Topic Name]
.
- Description: Ensure it contains relevant keywords and has the appropriate tone (use the latest draft provided by the team).
- Date and Time: Double-check the time zone to avoid resets.
- Upload the relevant thumbnail image for the stream.
- Click Next to move to the platform selection screen.
2. Select Channels for Streaming
- From the channel selection screen, toggle on all necessary platforms.
- Jackye Clayton's Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube (via her account).
- Humareso’s YouTube and John’s Twitter (via the Humareso account).
- Ensure LinkedIn is linked correctly, as Restream only allows one LinkedIn account per stream. Use separate accounts if needed.
- Review each platform’s character limits and adjust the post text accordingly.
3. Double-Check Destination Settings
- After selecting channels, click Save.
- If you see any Destination Issues, resolve them by reconnecting accounts or toggling on the necessary platforms.
- Review all the chosen platforms before confirming.
4. Get the Shareable URL
- After creating the event, click the Invite Guest icon (person with a plus symbol).
- Copy the shareable guest invitation URL for use on additional platforms.
5. Sharing the Event to Other Channels
- Switch over to the Humareso Team account and repeat the same steps for Humareso's Facebook and Humareso's LinkedIn pages.
- Encourage others on the team to share the event link on their networks for broader reach.
6. Post-Event Follow-Up
- Monitor social media platforms for engagement.
- Respond to comments and interact with the audience to boost visibility.
- After the event, share clips on Monday and Wednesday via Opus. SOP coming soon.
